Hope you are having a great weekend.
Today we had an interesting experience at a different church. This church was called Crossroads. It was really big and really loud and really amazing. The sanctuary was like a theater (that sort of seats and they dimmed the lights and everything)!! Worship was short yet very different than we're used to, They had 3 electric guitars, drums, vocalist, and a electric organ. The sermon was really amazing. It touched the stuff we learned about yesterday at the Freedom Museum. One of the families had moved to Nepal to help girls get out of the sex trafficking, and the church did a bunch of mission trips there and other places. They also sponsor kids with Compassion. They sponsor 2 kids per person at Crossroads so that is about 6,000 kids. and then they did a trip to Nicaragua to build and bless.
We also went to the Kentucky Horse Park. I loved seeing all the past champions face to face who are now retired. We met a couple retired Kentucky Derby winners and some other major event winners. Then we went to a museum that had the history of horses and then to a Saddlebred museum. A Saddlebred is the main horse for past Americans. It is supposed to be the rich kind of horse. I thought they looked sort of stuck up but that could just be me! We also did some shopping in the gift shop!
All and all we had a very nice very busy day!
Hope you enjoyed,
Anna-Lee
P.S. I will post some photos of the church when they get downloaded.

Anna-Lee- keep it up!! Your posts are wonderful, sometimes funny and sometimes thought provoking, as well as a good selection of photos. I did not realize you were blogging separately until I found the link on compass rose...now I am all caught up!
ReplyDeleteI also think it is great that some of your thoughts are on the family blog. What an opportunity to see a section of the USA - and God's creation. And to be reminded of other places far off like Lebanon .... Mrs L
